Senior Specialist Course

Greetings,

I would like take this opportunity to congratulate the 5 appointment holders for passing out from the East/Air Senior Specialist Course that is held from 10-12 Sept, at HQ NCC.

1. SSG Saiful Irfan
2. SSG Poh Hui Quan
3. SSG Ong Tjin Shen
4. SSG Ong Xin Wen
5. SSG Cheong Jia Xun

Upon graduating from SSC, they will be appointed Unit Drill Instructors and presented with the Red/White lanyard.
Their promotion will take immediate effect.

Overseas Training Programme/International Cadet Exchange Programme (ICEP)

Hi guys,

There are a few overseas trips available for sign ups:
1. ICEP Austrialia, Visit to Exercise Wallaby 2009 (10-15 Nov)
2. ICEP New Zealand, Vist to Exercise Thunder Warrior 2010 (23 Jan - 1 Feb)
3. India Republic Day 2010 (17-29 Jan)

A brief introduction to the 3 trips.
1. Exercise Wallaby
Cadets will have a change observe SAF troops training in SWBTA in Queensland, Australia for the purpose of exposing NCC cadets to live-firing, troop and vehicle movement in an SAF Overseas Training Base so as to increase military awareness in NCC Cadets. Cadets will participate in a exchange programme with Australia Cadet Corps cadets, which include a visit to a unit training and a one-day adventure training programme(high ropes element, caving tour)

2. Exercise Thunder Warrior
Cadets will have a chance to observe SAF troops training in Waiouru for the purpose of exposing NCC cadets to live-firing, troop and vehicle movement in SAF Overseas Training Base.
There will be white-water rafting and bush trekking activities at the Taihapi resort.

You will be participating in a cadet exchange programme with the New Zealand Cadet Forces, which include a 3 days home stay at a NZCF cadet's house.

3. India Republic Day
Cadets will participate in the Republic Day Camp organised by NCC India. Cadets will also be involved in a wide variety of activities such as shooting competitions and horse riding. In addition, various cultural exchanges with other youth organisations and visits to historical sites will be conducted. You will be invited to view the annual India Republic Day Parade.

All the above mentioned trips are only applicable for PART Cs and above cadets.

All application forms must be submitted before 25 Sept 09, to East District

If any of you are interested, please approach Mr Lee personally to obtain the application forms as you need his recommendation and principal's approval.

Alternatively, you can also contact me for further details of these trips or if you need any clarifications.

Shortlisted applicants will have to attend a interview chaired by Commandant or Head Training Management, before you are selected to participate in the overseas trips mentioned above.

NCC Training on 21 August

NCC Weekly Training: 21st August '09

1. A 1.5 LITRES water bottle.
2. No.4 Uniform with beret.
3. Stationary (Pen & Paper)
4. Secondary 1 Students, your attire is NO.4 UNIFORM WITH ALL TAGS PROPERLY SEWN.
5. RED NCC SHIRT and Brown NCC shirt for PART A

*Please Take Note! *

1. Attendance for this week's training is Compulsory,
*2. All cadets are required to trim their hair and cut it short to acceptable length. Those who fail to do so, will be punished.
3. Report in your No. 4 Uniform and check your attire & bearing before the start of training. 4. Bearing must be up to standard.
5. All (Items To Bring) stated above are compulsory for all.

BNSS NDP, 7 Aug (ACTUAL)

To all cadets participating in the NCC Marching Contingent in BNSS NDP.

Updates on reporting time and other details.

1. Please report earlier at 0645hrs to place your belongings in the NCC room.
2. After leaving your bags, please fall in at 0650hrs sharp at the driveway behind Blk B, ''Hell Road'' for attire inspection.
3. You will not be able to march for BNSS NDP if you report after 0700hrs, so please get up early and be in school earlier to avoid any delays. NCC Room will be opened after 0630hrs.

NOTE: Pass this message around!

For your information: Attire and bearing. (This applies to all NCC Trainings and activities)

1. Please spot a decent haircut. (Trim your fringe and cut off any excessive hair)
2. Please season your beret and ensure the crest is upright.
3. Fold your sleeves neatly and make sure you maintain a four fingers spacing from your shoulder seam.
4. Ensure that you have your name tags, school tags and rank properly sewn on your No.4 uniform.
5. Pin up the badges that you have attained accordingly. (Refer to Badges Arrangement post)
6. Darken you boots thoroughly. I would encourage you to polish your boots as this is a parade.
7. If your uniform is crumpled after washing, please iron it.

Failure to meet the requirements stated above will result you being remove from the contingent.

Badges Arrangement

Hi all,

In this post I will explain to you how to pin up the badges you attained from courses/activities.

Below are pictures that will show you the correct arrangement of badges.

(Note: You may not have some the badges shown in the pictures yet)

Figure 1(Right Chest) Figure 2(Left Chest)

As you can see, round badges(non-ncc courses) will be placed on your right chest(Figure1), above the name tag. Total defence badges should be placed on the right pocket flap.

On your left chest, shield badges (e.g PART B Proficiency Badge, Orienteering badge) should be on top of the Singapore tag. Depending on the no. of badges you have, you are to center it. PART B proficiency should be place nearest to the buttons followed by adventure, expedition badge and the orienteering badge should be placed nearest to your left sleeves. The Army-NCC badge should be on top of the shield badges and centered.

For you NAPFA badge place it on your left sleeve's rank.

BNSS NDP Final Rehearsal On 3rd Aug

To all cadets who are participating in the NCC Marching contingent for BNSS NDP.

You are reminded to turn up for this final rehearsal on 3rd Aug, 3pm. (Report earlier at 2.45pm to change to your Half No.4)
Warning: Do not put on your Half-No.4 at home and wear it to school, you are not allowed to be in Half-No.4 in the public!
Failure to turn up for this rehearsal will result in you being removed from the contingent or whichever appointment you are holding in the parade.

Take note that you are to report in Half No.4 (Beret, NCC Shirt, No.4 Trousers and boots).
Please darken your boots and it will be value-added for you if you would want to polish it for the parade on next friday.

Some key points to take note during the parade.
1. When marching in/out ensure that you check your dressing.
2. Swing your arms 90 degrees front(shoulder level), 45 degrees back.
3. When mark time(hentak kaki), make sure you raise your boots 90 degrees up and refrain from shifting forward.
4. When taking dressing (ke-kanan lurus), shuffle your feet, do not turn your body and open your feet wide.
5. When standing at attention or at ease, always look up and maintain the ''stomach in, chest out'' posture.
6. Please knee down to indicate that you are not feeling well and would like to fall out.
7. While marching out, look out for the arrow heads(markings) for turning.
8. Turn & wheel as a FILE(Right/Center/Left man), all the extreme right man watch out for the markings.
8. For eyes right(Pandang Ke-Kanan) TURN your head 90 degrees to your right. (Do not tilt your head up)[First man on the extreme right do not turn your head at all.]

Lastly, stay alert and hear for the commands.
Enjoy the band music and march with pride as you are marching for NCC and for the school.

Only questions that are complete and which make sense will be addressed and answered or else it will be ignored or deleted.
You are not allowed to share your personal info or confidential details here eg. passwords.

The abbreviations for ranks are as follow:
Private (Part As) - PTE
Lance Corporal (Part Bs) - LCP
Corporal (Part Cs) - CPL
3rd Sergeant (Part C/Ds) - 3SG
2nd Sergeant (Part C/Ds) - 2SG
1st Sergeant (Part C/Ds) - 1SG
Staff Sergeant (Part Ds) - SSG
Master Sergeant (Part Ds) - MSG

Anyone who attempt to post any messages that are offensive and disturbing to others shall have you IP address banned. That includes spamming and making negative comments of someone.
